Sound Insulation
• Field IIC rating of 60 when tested under ceramic tile over 8" concrete with no ceiling assembly
• Field IIC rating of 60 when tested under 3/8" glued-down engineered wood over 8" concrete with no ceiling assembly
Lateral Crack Suppressant
• Insulayment is warranted for a period of 15 years to suppress the transfer of lateral cracking of up to 1/4" from concrete sub-floors to the covered flooring material.
Multi-purpose
• Used under: 1) ceramic, porcelain, and most stone tile, 2) glued-down or nailed down hardwood and 3) glued-down or nailed down engineered wood floors.
TCA Robinson Test
• When installed with residential ceramic tile, mortar, and grout, and in accordance with TCA installation standards, the product was rated as "LIGHT" for "light commercial use in office space, reception areas, kitchens, and bathrooms."
• When installed with commercial porcelain tile, epoxy mortar, and epoxy grout, and in accordance with TCA installation standard, the product was rated as "Extra Heavy" for "extra heavy and high impact use in food plants, dairies, breweries, and kitchens.
Adds insulation value
• Insulayment will add a thermal "break" to the flooring assembly with an r-value of approximately .50
Anti-Microbial Properties
• Synthetic fibers by their composition do not support the growth of bacteria and fungus.
• The high temperature manufacturing process used to produce Insulayment will eliminate live organisms.
• Midwest Padding L.L.C. incorporates an EPA registered anti-microbial in Insulayment to control mold or bacteria on the treated product
• Also prevents dust mite colonies from developing by destroying the symbionic fungi that they depend on.
