Product Information

Designed for floating floor materials, QuietWalk's recycled filaments are specially processed to cushion the floor, absorbing sound and reducing unwanted noise. This helps make floating floors sound more like fastened wood and helps to keep sound from traveling to other rooms. Although it can be installed over wood or concrete subfloors, QuietWalk can manage moisture that surfaces in the form of vapors that naturally come up from concrete subfloors with its exclusive DriWick™ technology. Since QuietWalk and concrete are both "breathable" capillary products, vapors that are emitted will never accumulate under the pad into harmful moisture. The DriWick™ technology will wick away harmful moisture while the attached vapor barrier protects the overlying flooring from any attacking moisture. With QuietWalk flooring underlayment you get better moisture protection, as the fibers manage harmful moisture concerns.

Available in 3' x 33.4' (100 sq ft) or 6' x 60' (360 sq ft) Rolls Installation of QuietWarmth

Features and Benefits

Superior Sound Reduction

Superior Sound Reduction - Recycled fibers absorb sound and keep it from traveling to other rooms. Makes click-together floating floors sound solid underfoot.

Moisture Protection

Moisture Protection - Recycled fibers allow installation over concrete to “breathe” - managing vapors from becoming bulk moisture. The attached vapor barrier protects the overlying floors from harmful moisture.

Compression Resistant

Compression Resistant - Dense recycled fiber structure supports the click-together mechanism and will uphold its supportive configuration under the consistent traffic of the overlying floor.

Smoothing Out Imperfections

Smoothing Out Imperfections - Firm and supportive but flexible enough to form around subfloor surface roughness, helps to cut down on extra subfloor surface prepping time.

Insulating Value

Insulating Value - Provides additional comfort to the entire home during seasonal temperature changes.

Approved for In-Floor Heating Systems

Approved for In-Floor Heating Systems - Allows heat to permeate evenly while helping to protect the floor covering material from thermal shock.

Made From Recycled Material

Made From Recycled Material - A patented manufacturing process repurposes post-industrial and pre and post consumer materials into high-performance underlayment.

Certified Clean and Safe Indoor Air Quality

Certified Clean and Safe Indoor Air Quality - No VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) or off-gassing from materials.

Competitively Priced

Competitively Priced - An ideal upgrade from 2-in-1 polyethylene or polystyrene products and is less costly than most frothed foam, cork or rubber underlayment with similar sound numbers.

Float It

Float It - Can be used with a variety of floating floor types.

Advance Moisture Protection

DriWick Technology in QuietWalk premium acoustic underlayment for floating floors relies on a blend of antimicrobial treated recycled fibers that will wick away subfloor moisture while protecting flooring materials.

  • Water vapor is present in all concrete subfloors
  • Blocking vapors creates water droplets which spell trouble for floors
  • QuietWalk with DriWick Technology™ allows concrete to breathe never allowing vapors to become bulk moisture.
  • THe attached vapor barrier protects the overlying floors from harm
  • Antimicrobial treated fiber for protection against mold and mildew

Sound Rating

Ambient Sound (STC - Sound Transmission Class - Rating of 66)

STC is a measure of how much airborne sound (speech, TV, stereo, etc.) is reduced after traveling through the floor covering, underlayment, and building structure and emerging in the room below.

Impact Sound (IIC - Impact Insulation Class - Rating of 71)

IIC is a measure of how much impact sound (walking, kids playing, etc.) is reduced after traveling through the floor covering, underlayment, and building structure and merging in the room below.
